Smarten Targets 350 Distributors as It Expands Solar and Power Backup Network Across India
Smarten is set to expand its distribution network to more than 350 partners during FY 2026-27 by appointing 108 new distributors across India. The move aims to strengthen market coverage, improve customer support and meet growing demand for power backup systems and solar energy solutions across residential, commercial and small business segments.
The company announced plans to expand its distributor base to more than 350 partners during the financial year 2026-27, compared with its current network of over 250 distributors. As part of this strategy, Smarten will appoint 108 new distributors across key regions to improve customer reach and enhance support capabilities.
The expansion forms a key component of the company's broader growth strategy aimed at increasing market penetration across residential, commercial and small business categories. According to the company, distributors have played a crucial role in helping it enter diverse markets and understand local energy requirements more effectively.
North India will account for the largest share of the planned expansion, with 41 new distributors set to be appointed. South India will receive 32 new distributors, while East India will add 23 and West India will see 12 new appointments.
Smarten said its focus remains on strengthening its presence in existing markets while expanding into high-potential territories where demand for power backup and solar energy solutions continues to rise. The company expects the expanded network to improve product availability, customer engagement and service support across regions.
The company believes a wider distribution footprint will allow it to respond more effectively to emerging market opportunities while improving access to its portfolio of power backup and solar products.
The expansion comes amid growing demand for power backup systems and renewable energy solutions among residential and commercial consumers. Businesses and households are increasingly investing in dependable energy infrastructure, creating fresh opportunities for vendors and channel partners operating in the sector.
Smarten said a stronger distribution network would enable the company to address these opportunities more efficiently and support customers across a wider geographical footprint. The company also considers channel expansion a critical element of its long-term growth strategy.
Rajnish Sharma, Whole-Time Director and Chief Executive Officer of Smarten, said channel partners had played a major role in helping the company reach customers across different markets and understand local energy needs. He said the company's priority remained strengthening market coverage, building long-term partnerships and ensuring customers had easier access to dependable energy solutions.
According to Sharma, the planned expansion will help the company meet increasing demand across residential and commercial segments while supporting broader adoption of power backup and solar technologies across India.
Smarten believes a larger distributor ecosystem will enhance customer reach and create a stronger foundation for future growth. By expanding its channel presence across regions, the company aims to improve market responsiveness and strengthen engagement with customers and partners.
The expansion also highlights the growing importance of channel-led strategies in sectors such as renewable energy and power infrastructure, where local market presence and service support remain essential to customer adoption. With plans to surpass 350 distributors during the financial year 2026-27, Smarten is seeking to deepen its presence across India and strengthen its ability to serve the country's rising demand for power backup and solar energy solutions.
